A training log for grapplers
The roll is gone before you reach the car.
Talk through your roll for two minutes. Martial turns it into a clean session and a scorecard of what keeps catching you.

- Round 2, white beltPassed to side control, took mount, took the back, RNC attempt
- Round 3, half guardCould not establish the underhook
What keeps catching you
- Triangle9

- Kimura from half guard3
What you land
- Sweep to mount7
- RNC5
- Knee cut pass5
The reps you already paid for
Forgetting is not a discipline problem. It is the default.
A round ends, you slap hands, you grab water, and by the time you are in the car the detail is gone.
Martial does the drive-home replay for you and makes it stick.
The recap loop
You just rolled. You can barely remember round two. Talk it out instead.
So you talk. Martial structures it into a session you can actually read later.
You, talking (raw)
"Rolled with Renato first, he pulled guard, got me in his closed guard and hit the triangle again, I tried to posture and stack but he was already too deep. Then I rolled with the new white belt, passed to side control, took mount, he gave up his back, nearly finished the RNC but lost the hand fight. Last round half guard the whole time, could not get the underhook."
Martial, structured
- Round 1, Renato. Caught by triangle from closed guard. Note: posture broke late.
- Round 2, white belt. Passed to side control. Took mount. Took the back. RNC attempt, lost the hand fight.
- Round 3, half guard the full round. Could not establish the underhook.
Or skip the talking. Tap a few chips for the positions and subs and it logs the session the same way.
The submission scorecard
"I keep getting caught in the same thing" becomes a number you can fix.
Every roll, you tap or talk what happened. Martial counts it up.
What keeps catching you
- Triangle, 9 times. Mostly from closed guard. Mostly Renato.
- Bow and arrow choke, 4 times. From the back, after a guard pass.
- Kimura from half guard, 3 times. Two of them Dave.
What you land
- Sweep to mount, 7 times. Renato twice.
- RNC, 5 times.
- Knee cut pass, 5 times.
So next time you roll Renato, you already know the triangle is coming from closed guard, and you posture early instead of finding out again the hard way.
How it works
Three steps. Done before you leave the mat.
Step 1
Record
One tap before you slap hands. Works in a gym basement with no signal, and the upload does not drop.
Step 2
Recap
Tap a few chips, or talk for about two minutes. Martial structures it into a clean session.
Step 3
Train smarter
Your log, your streak, your scorecard, and two or three things to work on before your next roll.
From rolling on vibes to rolling with a plan
Walk in knowing what you are working on.
Right now most rolls are reactive. Read it for thirty seconds before class and the detail is right there.
- Tonight: posture and break grips early against closed guard before he sets the triangle.
- Hunt the kimura from half guard instead of just holding the underhook.
- If you take the back, win the hand fight before you commit to the RNC.
The training log
See that you are getting better, even when it does not feel like it.
Martial keeps an honest record of every session. True counts only, no fake numbers, no padding.

Honest by design
Why this one is not like the apps that got roasted.
You have tried apps that faked it. This is built by someone who trains, for an audience that catches that instantly.
- It records what happened. It will never tell you who won, never invent a score, and never tell you that you are better than you are.
- It is a supplement to your mat time. Bring it to your coach. It is for the work between sessions, not a replacement for either.
- It is private by default. For you to review, not for a feed, never posted, never clout.
- It is free while in beta. No paywall before it earns one.
The moment one flatters you, you stop trusting it. Martial shows you what happened and what you logged, nothing it cannot know.
Coming after the log is right
Next, Martial reads what happened on the mats.
Today, Martial keeps your footage organized and yours to watch alongside the session you logged.
Never who won. Never a numeric score. Never a submission call it cannot back. Never a grip critique it cannot actually see. When there is a real demo to show, it goes here.
Where this goes
Right now it is your honest log. It does not stay solo.
The partner network
As the people you roll with join, your scorecard gets settled against them. A notes app cannot do this.
The verified directory
The running joke is that the best BJJ app is Google Maps. The best verified BJJ directory there is, gym by gym.
Find gyms and open matsAll grappling
BJJ first, because it is the hardest to get right. Grappling and the rest follow.
Why this exists
I built the thing I needed as a white belt.
I earned a black belt in karate and then walked into a BJJ gym and started over from zero. So I built Martial to do the work between sessions. It never tells you that you are better than you are.
Before you sign up
Is this for beginners or only competitors?
Both. If you can talk for two minutes about your last roll, you can use it. White belts get the most out of seeing the same leak counted up. Competitors get the relational scorecard against the people they actually train with.
Does it judge me or tell me who won?
No. It never calls a winner and never puts a score on a roll. It shows you counts of what actually happened, which cannot be confidently wrong about your roll. That restraint is the whole point.
Is my data private?
Yes, private by default. Your sessions and footage are for you to review. Nothing is public unless you choose it, nothing is posted, there is no feed.
What does it cover?
BJJ first, because it is the hardest to get right. Grappling and more follow, once BJJ is right.
Is it free?
Free while in beta. No paywall before the product earns one, and no surprise charge to start.
When does film land?
After the log and the scorecard are right. We would rather ship it honest and late than fake and early, and we will not claim accuracy until there is a real demo to show.
Will it replace my coach?
No. It is for the work between sessions. Your coach stays the source of truth, and you can bring your log straight to them.
Do I have to make an account to join the waitlist?
No. One email. We tell you when it is your turn.
